We will talk about Joseph Pulitzer, William, Randolph Hearst, Nelly Bly, Theodore Roosevelt, Carl Schurz and other colorful figures of the era.
This led to the Spanish-American War that resulted in a large-scale acquisition of foreign territories and a prolonged brutal war in the Philippines to suppress people who mistakenly believed that we had ousted Spain in order to give them their freedom.
